Angular 2 and Magento®: The Civil War

Its 2016 and Angular2 is in beta. Everyone is trying Angular 2 in production apps. I have been angular js fan so I also thought of trying it. Once I wrote How to integrate Angular 1 with Magento.
So, I tried integrating Angular 2 and Magento with great enthusiasm and expectations. But after wasting hours on it I came up with nothing.

Then I started again with sample angular 2 app plunker provided on angular 2 official site. I then dropped the prototype js file into it and whoa! It broke.

So I came up with the result that Angular 2 and Magento are rivals right now. You may want them together, but you wont see them together for some time.

I have created an issue on angular 2 github and stackoverflow question for it. There has been no official confirmation from angular team till now. But I hope that someone will be able to bring the two beasts together.

And yes, React JS works with Magento! Stay tuned…

  1. Hi Arvind,

I am pursuing masters in computer science, and I wanted to make magento one pager website as my masters project.

but before registering it i wanted to check the compatibility with magento2 API with angularjs 2.

Do you have any news that it is good to go now on this path? are magento2 and angularjs 2 are compatible with each other?

    1. Hi Meet,
I have not got a chance to test integration of Magento 2 and Angular 2. But I am sure that it will work.
You can share your findings for good of others.
